Fujimaki’s Latest Work
Kill Blue centers on Juzo Ogami, a 40-year-old elite hitman working for the Z.O.O. assassin syndicate. During a mission, he is stung by a mysterious wasp that regresses his age to 12. Unable to continue his work as a full-fledged hitman due to his newfound stature, Ogami is given a new assignment: attend middle school alongside the syndicate head’s daughter to assess its safety. Having never experienced formal education, Ogami surprisingly finds joy in middle school life while balancing his student persona with his assassin duties. The series has been praised for its unique plot within the hitman manga genre, as well as its artwork and characters.
Anime Adaptation Details Emerge
The television anime adaptation is slated to premiere in 2026. It will be produced by Studio Cue, with Hiro Kaburagi [ja] directing the series. Miho Daidōji is credited with character designs. A visual for the anime has already been revealed, and a teaser promotional video is expected to be released soon. The decision to adapt the series after its manga conclusion offers the production team the flexibility to plan the anime’s pacing, potentially incorporating all of the manga’s story without the need for filler content.
