The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yuki Shiwasu’s manga series, Tamon’s B-Side (Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!?), has released its first promotional video, unveiling additional cast members, key staff, and a preview of the insert song. The anime is slated to premiere in January 2026.
The new video offers fans a deeper look into the highly anticipated romantic comedy, which centers on high school student Utage Kinoshita and her favorite idol, Tamon Fukuhara.
New Cast Members Join the Ensemble
Several new voice actors have been added to the cast, bringing more characters from the beloved manga to life. The newly announced cast members include:
- Masaaki Mizunaka as Wataru Fujita
- Takako Honda as Izumi Shiraishi
- Saya Fukuzumi as Yuina
- Yurika Hirayama as Riko
These actors will join the previously announced main cast:
- Saori Hayami as Utage Kinoshita
- Kakeru Hatano as Tamon Fukuhara
- Shoya Chiba as Ouri Sakaguchi
- Tasuku Hatanaka as Keito Tachibana
- Kohei Amasaki as Natsuki Ishibashi
- Ryuho Nagaoka as Rintaro Kai
Additional Production Staff Announced
The production team at studio J.C.STAFF is expanding, with new staff members revealed to be working on the series. Chika Nagaoka (known for Case Closed: The Fist of Blue Sapphire and Uta no Prince Sama Maji Love Kingdom) is directing the anime. Chiaki Nagai (from 22/7 (nanabun no nijyuuni) and The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls) is handling both the series composition and scripts. Yoko Ito (who worked on Delico’s Nursery and Skate-Leading Stars) is serving as character designer and chief animation director.

The anime is being produced by Shochiku, King Records, and Hakusensha.
Insert Song “Supernova” by F/ACE Revealed
The first promotional video also features a preview of the insert song “Supernova,” performed by the in-story male idol unit F/ACE. This song will be included as a coupling song on F/ACE’s upcoming second single, “F/ACE OFF,” which is scheduled for release in Japan on October 20. Previously, a music video for “F/ACE OFF” was released, which is the debut song for the idol group.
Anime Adaptation Details and Manga Background
Tamon’s B-Side is based on Yuki Shiwasu’s popular shojo manga, Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? The manga began as a one-shot in Hana to Yume magazine in August 2021 before being serialized in October of the same year. VIZ Media publishes an official English version of the manga. The story follows Utage Kinoshita, a dedicated fangirl who discovers that her favorite idol, Tamon Fukuhara, is an insecure individual behind his charismatic stage persona and is considering quitting. Utage then dedicates herself to supporting him in any way she can. The anime adaptation is set to debut in January 2026.
