Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine announced on July 4 that a new spinoff manga series based on Yuki Shiwasu’s popular Tamon’s B-Side (Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!?) will launch soon. The new series, titled Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? F/ACE Off Stage!, is being penned by Uzu Natsumo and will delve into the daily lives of the in-universe boy band F/ACE.
Spinoff Focuses on F/ACE’s Hectic Lives
The upcoming spinoff, Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? F/ACE Off Stage!, is set to provide fans with an inside look into the “hectic daily life” of the fictional boy band F/ACE. This new series aims to expand upon the world of Tamon’s B-Side, offering a fresh perspective on the idol group that features prominently in the original manga.
Publication Details and Release
Uzu Natsumo’s new series will debut in the September 1 issue of the special The Hana to Yume Numa magazine. The launch date for this special issue is set for July 26.
About the Original “Tamon’s B-Side”
Yuki Shiwasu’s original Tamon’s B-Side manga, known in Japanese as Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? (literally “Which Tamon Am I Seeing Now?”), first appeared as a one-shot in Hana to Yume in August 2021 before beginning its serialization in October of the same year. The romantic comedy follows high schooler Utage Kinoshita, who takes a part-time housekeeping job to fund her idol fandom. She soon discovers that her favorite idol, Tamon Fukuhara, is an insecure individual considering quitting, leading Utage to dedicate herself to supporting him.
Critical Acclaim and Recognition
The Tamon’s B-Side manga has garnered significant attention and praise since its debut. It was nominated for Best Shōjo Manga at Kodansha’s 47th annual Manga Awards in 2023. Additionally, the series ranked #9 on Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook’s top-20 list of manga for female readers in its 2023 edition. Viz Media has licensed the original manga for English publication.
Anime Adaptation on the Horizon
Further expanding its universe, Tamon’s B-Side is also inspiring an anime television series. The anime adaptation, produced by J.C.Staff, is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. This multi-platform expansion highlights the growing popularity and established fanbase of the Tamon’s B-Side franchise.
