Acclaimed manga artist Tarō Nogizaka is set to launch a new manga titled Manazashi Tamako no Jiyū Kenkyū (Tamako Manazashi’s Independent Research) in the first 2026 issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine, scheduled for release on December 12.
Nogizaka’s Latest Work
The announcement of Manazashi Tamako no Jiyū Kenkyū was made in the 22nd issue of Big Comic Superior. While specific plot details remain largely under wraps, the title suggests a narrative centered around a character named Tamako Manazashi and her independent research endeavors. A preview image for the manga has been released, providing a glimpse into the art style.
Tarō Nogizaka’s Esteemed Career
Tarō Nogizaka is a well-known figure in the manga industry, recognized for his compelling storytelling and distinctive art. His previous works include Iryū – Team Medical Dragon, a medical manga that garnered significant popularity and was adapted into four live-action television series between 2006 and 2014. These series were streamed by Crunchyroll starting in 2014.
Another notable work by Nogizaka is Natsume Arata no Kekkon (Arata Natsume’s Marriage), which ran in Big Comic Superior from June 2019 to January 2024 and concluded with 12 compiled book volumes. This manga also inspired a live-action film that premiered in November 2024.
Other Upcoming Releases in Big Comic Superior
Big Comic Superior will also feature other new manga launches in the near future. Daisuke Watanabe, known for Gedō no Uta, is set to debut a new manga titled Uchūjin wa Iranai (No Need for Aliens) in the magazine in early spring. This demonstrates Big Comic Superior‘s continued commitment to introducing fresh and diverse manga content to its readership.
