Anime Premise and Production
“The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest” follows the story of Alec Yugret, a magician who dedicated himself to support magic. Initially, Alec served as a loyal court magician, assisting the crown prince in clearing dungeons. However, he is abruptly fired and exiled by the prince, who deems his support magic useless.
After hitting rock bottom, Alec reunites with Yorha Eisentz, a former comrade from their legendary adventuring party, Lasting Period. Invited to rejoin his old team, Alec embarks on a new chapter, returning to dungeon exploration with a renewed goal to become the strongest.
The anime series is directed by Ken Takahashi at Studio Gekkou. Masamune Hirata is the assistant director, and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is responsible for the series composition. Yoko Sato is handling the character designs. The Japanese broadcast of the anime premiered on October 4, 2025. Crunchyroll streams the anime globally, excluding Asia. Kiro Akiyama performs the opening theme song “Quest,” while Aruma performs the ending theme song “Kakera” (Fragment). The series is expected to have at least 12 episodes.
