The anime adaptation of “The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest” is generating buzz with the announcement of Masaaki Mizunaka as the voice actor for Ornest Rain. Set to premiere in October 2025, this fantasy series is adapted from the light novel series written by Alto and illustrated by Yuunagi.
Story Overview
“The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest” follows Alec, a court magician who dedicated himself to support magic to aid the crown prince. However, Alec is suddenly fired, deemed useless for only knowing support magic. Jobless and at his wit’s end, he is approached by Yorha, an old friend from his magic academy days. She invites him to conquer dungeons together once more, leading Alec on a new adventure to rebuild his party and aim for greater heights.
Masaaki Mizunaka as Ornest Rain
Masaaki Mizunaka, known for his roles such as Aston in “The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows”, will be voicing Ornest Rain. Ornest is described as a member of Alec’s party with a brash and reckless personality.
Mizunaka describes Ornest as “a musclehead, no, a genius,” and adds, “He has a very straightforward and aggressive fighting style, always charging into battle and overwhelming opponents with pure power and passion. While he can be a bit rough around the edges, he’s a reliable ally who trusts his friends and is trusted by them in return. Alec, Yorha, Krasia, and Ornest all bring different talents to their party, and their combat scenes are incredibly exciting. I’ve put a lot of passion into voicing him, and I hope viewers enjoy watching this fun and action-packed series!”
