The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Ippei Nara’s popular manga series, The Daily Life of a Single 29-Year-Old Adventurer (29-sai Dokushin Chūken Bōkensha no Nichijō), is officially set to premiere in January 2026. Crunchyroll will stream the fantasy adventure series globally, excluding Japan and China. The announcement came with a new trailer, revealing further cast members, staff details, and the artists behind the opening and ending theme songs.
A Heartwarming Fantasy Adventure Unfolds
The anime centers on Hajime Shinonome, a 29-year-old mid-tier adventurer who has forged a peaceful life for himself in Komai Village after a challenging childhood spent in the slums. His routine of quests and dungeon delves takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a young girl named Rirui (also referred to as Lilui in some translations) being attacked by a slime monster in a dungeon. Moved by compassion, and recalling his own past, Hajime takes the abandoned orphan under his wing, bringing her back to live with him in the village. This marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with heartwarming moments, challenges, and the formation of an unlikely family.
Key Cast and Production Team Revealed
The animation studio HORNETS is producing the series, with Riki Fukushima (known for Skate-Leading☆Stars) directing and overseeing the series scripts. Yoshihiro Nagamori is handling the main character designs.
The main voice cast includes:
- Hajime Shinonome: Voiced by Makoto Furukawa, known for his roles as Saitama in One-Punch Man and Benimura in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
- Rirui: Voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro, who has voiced Nijika in Bocchi the Rock!.
Additional cast members bring life to other essential characters:
- Veronica Bali: Shizuka Itō (Sailor Venus/Minako Aino in Sailor Moon Crystal) plays Veronica, an ancient succubus and acquaintance from Hajime’s slum days who runs a shop.
- Anyango: Yūki Kuwahara (Tohru in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid) voices the skilled dwarf girl, Anyango, who becomes a close friend to Rirui.
- Rishat: Tomohiro Ōno takes on the role of Rishat, Veronica’s servant.

Musical Talent and Streaming Details
The anime’s opening theme song, “Kimi ga Tomoshite Kureta Hikari o Ima” (The Light You Lit for Me Now), will be performed by HoneyWorks feat. Hanon. HoneyWorks feat. Kotoha will perform the ending theme song, “Kimi no Tonari wa Kūki ga Oishii” (The Air Next to You is Delicious).
The Daily Life of a Single 29-Year-Old Adventurer is based on the manga written and illustrated by Ippei Nara, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in January 2016.
