A Glimpse into the Anime’s Premise and Production
The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife is a romantic comedy based on the manga by Iwatobineko, which began as a webcomic on the author’s X (formerly Twitter) account in March 2021 before being acquired by Futabasha for serialization on the Pixiv Comic website. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English.
The story centers on Akira Tounome, a gentlemanly “Invisible Man” who operates a detective agency. His assistant, Shizuka Yakou, is a kind “Human Woman” who is blind. Despite Akira’s unique ability to disappear completely, Shizuka’s lack of sight paradoxically allows her to always perceive his presence. Their unusual working relationship blossoms into a heartwarming romance as they navigate their feelings for each other.
The anime is being produced by Project No.9, with Mitsuho Seta directing the series and overseeing the series scripts. Kairi Unabara is credited with character design, and Ruka Kawada is composing the music. The opening theme song, “Ding-dong,” will be performed by Mao Abe, while the ending theme, “Hoshimegane” (Star Glasses), will be sung by Kaori Ishihara.
Fans can look forward to streaming The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife globally on Crunchyroll when it premieres. The series is set to air on Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto in Japan, starting January 8, 2026.
