Cast Revealed for Upcoming Adaptation
The primary cast members for the “The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power” anime have been revealed. Rie Takahashi will voice Carolina, Makoto Furukawa is cast as Edward, and Haruka Shiraishi will portray Flora. Further details regarding the anime’s studio, main staff, and a definitive release date are yet to be announced.
The Story of the Oblivious Saint
“The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power” follows Lady Carolina, the overlooked daughter of a powerful duke. Believing herself to be the “black sheep” of her illustrious family, especially compared to her elder sister Flora, who is a prodigious mage destined to become the nation’s next Saint, Carolina resigns herself to a quiet existence. However, her destiny takes an unexpected turn when a sudden royal decree thrusts her into a political marriage with the formidable “Bloodthirsty Prince” of the neighboring Empire of Malcosias.
Determined to prove her worth in a world filled with political intrigue and mortal danger, Carolina embarks on a journey where royal obligations intertwine with hints of true love and the stirrings of her own latent power. The narrative explores Carolina’s path to understanding what it truly means to be exceptional. J-Novel Club, which publishes the light novel series in English, describes the story as Carolina constantly being reinforced with the idea that she is a “Sanchez family disgrace” by her older sister Flora. Despite Flora’s public facade of kindness, she abuses Carolina behind closed doors. As Carolina enters her political marriage, she discovers that her husband-to-be and new in-laws genuinely adore her, leading her to question her past beliefs and potentially unveil her true, hidden power.
From Web Novel to Anime
The series originated as a web novel, serialized on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro from 2020 to 2023. Earth Star Entertainment later acquired the title, publishing it in print with illustrations by Yoshiro Ambe under their Earth Star Luna imprint. The light novel series concluded with its fourth and final volume in June 2023. J-Novel Club licensed and released the entire novel series in English. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Yona Etō, began serialization on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website in April 2022.
