The highly anticipated second season of the “torture” comedy anime, ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess (also known as Hime-sama, “Gōmon” no Jikan Desu), has announced its theme song artists. South Korean girl group ILLIT will perform the opening theme, while Japanese singer-songwriter Yuika will provide the ending theme for the upcoming season, set to premiere in January 2026.
ILLIT to Deliver Opening Theme for First Japanese Anime Collaboration
The five-member South Korean girl group ILLIT has been tapped to perform the as-yet-untitled opening theme song for ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess Season 2. This marks ILLIT’s first venture into providing a theme song for a Japanese TV anime series. Formed through the audition program “R U NEXT?” in 2023, the multinational group includes members YUNAH, MINJU, MOKA, WONHEE, and IROHA.
In a comment, ILLIT expressed their honor at performing for an anime beloved in Japan and excitement for the synergy between their music and the show’s world. The group recently made their Japanese debut in September with “Toki Yo Tomare” and is slated to release their first single, “Not Cute Anymore,” on November 24.
Yuika to Provide Ending Theme for Second Season
Japanese singer-songwriter Yuika, a 20-year-old artist from Nara who made her major debut with Universal Music in 2024, will perform the ending theme for the second season. The title of her song has not yet been revealed. Yuika previously contributed “Yusari no Canon” as the ending theme for the first season of the TV anime Blue Orchestra in 2023. She shared her excitement about being involved with a work she enjoyed before her music career began, crafting a song about loving everyday life, even amid constant surprises.

Returning Staff and New Character Introduction
The anime, based on the comedy fantasy manga series by Robinson Haruhara (story) and Hirakei (art), continues the saga of the captured Princess. The first season, which aired for 12 episodes from January to March 2024, saw Yōko Kanamori direct the series at PINE JAM, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series scripts, Toshiya Kōno and Satoshi Furuhashi on character designs, and Masaru Yokoyama composing the music.
The upcoming season will introduce a new character, Sakura Heartrock, who will be voiced by Mutsumi Tamura. The story follows the Princess of the Kingdom’s Third Knight Order as she faces “merciless tortures” from the Hellhorde, which often involve tempting culinary delights and other irresistible pleasures rather than physical pain.
