TNSK, the acclaimed manga artist behind “My Master Has no Tail,” is set to release a new manga series titled “Torimatorimasu” on August 7. The announcement came from the August issue of Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine, revealing details about the upcoming work.
The new series will center on a character named Jun, a young girl who relocates with her father, a doctor, to a clinic nestled deep within the mountains. What initially promises to be an idyllic summer quickly takes a sinister turn as Jun uncovers unsettling rumors surrounding the clinic and stumbles upon a mysterious old videotape.
TNSK’s previous work, “My Master Has no Tail” (Uchi no Shishō wa Shippo ga Nai), captivated readers with its unique blend of fantasy and traditional Japanese performing arts. The series, which followed a tanuki girl aspiring to become a rakugo storyteller, was serialized in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon from January 2019 to January 2024, concluding with its twelfth volume. It also inspired an anime adaptation that aired in 2022.
“Torimatorimasu” marks TNSK’s latest venture, promising a fresh narrative within the same magazine that previously housed their successful predecessor. Fans eagerly await the debut of this new mystery-tinged story.
