The Story of ‘DAN DA DAN’
Crunchyroll describes DAN DA DAN as a “paranormal mystery battle & romantic comedy.” The story centers on Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an ardent occult fanatic. After Momo comes to Okarun’s aid when he is being bullied, they strike up a conversation that quickly leads to an argument: Momo believes in ghosts but not aliens, while Okarun believes in aliens but not ghosts.
To prove their beliefs, Momo visits an abandoned hospital rumored to have UFO sightings, and Okarun ventures into a supposedly haunted tunnel. To their astonishment, both encounter overwhelming paranormal phenomena that defy comprehension. Amidst these bizarre predicaments, Momo awakens a latent power, and Okarun gains the ability of a curse, enabling them to confront these new dangers. Their unlikely and fated relationship also begins to blossom, setting the stage for a unique occult battle and coming-of-age story.
