Tubi has recently added the 39-episode Japanese animated series Tai Chi Chasers (also known as Tai Chi Senjimon) to its streaming library, complete with its English dub. This action-adventure and fantasy series, co-produced by veteran Japanese studio Toei Animation, Korean studio JM Animation, and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), originally premiered on Korean television in 2007. Hulu previously streamed the series.
The series introduces viewers to a young boy named Rai who, after a mysterious attack on his home, discovers he is a descendant of the Tigeroids—an ancient race of peaceful beings. The Tigeroids are locked in a fierce struggle with the ruthless Dragonoids in a parallel universe known as Suhn. Their conflict revolves around recovering 500 lost tai chi characters, which, once retrieved, will grant ultimate power to rule their realm. As Rai hones his innate tai chi skills to combat the Dragonoids, he must embark on a quest to find the lost tai chi and become a champion Tai Chi Chaser.
Tai Chi Chasers was adapted for U.S. television in 2011 by 4Kids Entertainment, which handled the English localization. The series consists of three seasons, with 13 episodes in each. However, the third season’s English dub was not produced due to 4Kids’ bankruptcy and subsequent sale of assets in 2012.
