A Deeper Look into the Production
Tune In to the Midnight Heart is an adaptation of Masakuni Igarashi’s romantic comedy manga, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in September 2023. The anime adaptation is produced by studio GEKKOU, with Masayuki Takahashi (known for Butareba -The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig-) directing the series. Yukie Sugawara (who worked on Overlord) is handling the series composition, and Tomoyuki Shitaya (2.5 Dimensional Seduction) is responsible for character designs.
The story centers on Arisu Yamabuki, a high school sophomore, who embarks on a quest to find a mysterious radio host known only as “Apollo,” whose broadcasts provided him solace years prior. His search leads him to his school’s broadcasting club, where he encounters four distinct girls, each with dreams of utilizing their voices professionally. Arisu is determined to help them achieve their goals, hoping to uncover Apollo’s true identity along the way.
Cast Members Bringing Characters to Life
The anime boasts a talented voice cast, including Rikuya Yasuda as the protagonist Arisu Yamabuki. The four girls of the broadcasting club are voiced by Momoko Seto as Rikka Inohana, Rumi Okubo as Nene Himekawa, Sayumi Suzushiro as Iko Kirino, and Miku Ito as Shinobu Uzuki. Additionally, Kana Hanazawa, a prominent voice actress, joins the cast as Lemon Ando.
Anticipation Builds for “Kannibal!!” and “Anime A” Slots
The premiere of Tune In to the Midnight Heart will also mark the debut of Kansai Television and Fuji TV’s new “Kannibal!!” anime broadcast slot, signaling an expansion in their anime offerings. BS Asahi’s “Anime A” block will also feature the series, providing another viewing opportunity for fans. With a new promotional video, clear debut details, and exciting theme song announcements, Tune In to the Midnight Heart is shaping up to be a highly anticipated addition to the winter 2026 anime lineup.
