The original anime series “Turkey!” has unveiled a significant plot twist following the broadcast of its first episode, revealing a new title, a second promotional video, a third key visual, and additional cast members. The series is now officially titled “Turkey! Time to Strike”.
Initially promoted as a slice-of-life sports anime centered around a high school bowling club in Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture, the first episode revealed a surprising time-travel element. The five members of the Ikkokukan High School bowling club — Mai Otonashi, Rina Godai, Sayuri Ichinose, Nozomi Mitaka, and Nanase Nikaido — are unexpectedly transported to Japan’s Sengoku period after a mysterious light envelops them during a bowling match. There, they encounter the Tokura family.
The newly released third key visual depicts the five bowling club members alongside the Tokura family, surrounded by flames. The second promotional video further highlights this new time-traveling narrative.
Joining the previously announced main cast, five new voice actors have been revealed to play characters from the Sengoku period:
- Noriko Hidaka as Sumomo
- Yuko Minaguchi as Akebi
- Kikuko Inoue as Suguri
- Miki Ito as Anzu
- Rei Sakuma as Natsume
The anime, produced by Bakken Record and Pony Canyon, premiered in Japan on July 8, 2025, and is streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll. The opening theme song, “Hyakunichisou,” is performed by the five main cast members under the moniker “Ikkokukan High School Bowling Club, Nagano Prefecture.” A Blu-ray release has also been confirmed, with Volume 1 scheduled for November 19 and Volume 2 for January 28, 2026. These releases will include special features such as an exclusive illustrated jacket, a deluxe booklet, and cast and staff audio commentary.
