The debut episode of “Turkey! Time to Strike” unveiled that the five members of the Ikokkukan High School bowling team—Mai Otonashi, Rina Godai, Sayuri Ichinose, Nozomi Mitaka, and Nanase Nikaido—unexpectedly time-travel to Japan’s turbulent Sengoku period. This major plot development redefines the anime’s premise, transforming it from a simple sports drama into an “emotional and action-filled tale of youth and connection” across historical eras.
New Visuals and Promotional Video Released
Accompanying the plot revelation, a second promotional video and a third key visual for “Turkey! Time to Strike” have been released. The new key visual features the five bowling club members alongside the newly introduced Tokura family, set against a backdrop of flames, hinting at the challenges and drama awaiting them in the past. The tagline on the visual reads, “Let’s all go home together, ok?”, emphasizing the girls’ shared goal of returning to their own time.
Expanded Cast Introduces Sengoku-Era Characters
Five new voice cast members have been announced, portraying characters encountered by the protagonists in the Sengoku period. These additions include:
- Noriko Hidaka as Sumomo
- Yuko Minaguchi as Akebi
- Kikuko Inoue as Suguri
- Miki Ito as Anzu
- Rei Sakuma as Natsume
These new cast members join the previously announced main cast: Hana Hishikawa as Mai Otonashi, Kana Ichinose as Rina Godai, Haruki Iwata as Sayuri Ichinose, Yuuki Tenma as Nozomi Mitaka, and Ayasa Ito as Nanase Nikaido. “Turkey! Time to Strike” is an original Japanese anime television series produced by Pony Canyon and animated by Tatsunoko Production under their Bakken Record label. Susumu Kudo directs the series, with Naomi Hiruta handling the script and Airi Takekawa serving as character designer. Yuki Hayashi is composing the music.
The anime premiered on July 8, 2025, on Nippon TV and other networks in Japan. It is also streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll. The opening theme song, “Hyakunichisou,” is performed by the five main cast members under the moniker “Ikkokukan High School Bowling Club, Nagano Prefecture,” and was released for streaming on July 9. A Blu-ray release has also been confirmed, with Volume 1 slated for November 19, 2025, and Volume 2 for January 28, 2026.
