The highly anticipated anime, “Turkey! Time to Strike,” has surprised viewers with a significant plot twist, revealing a time-travel element that takes its high school bowling protagonists to feudal Japan. Alongside this unexpected narrative turn, a new trailer and key visual have been released, introducing additional cast members who will play a role in this genre-bending series.
Initially presented as a coming-of-age sports anime centered around a high school bowling club in Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture, “Turkey! Time to Strike” premiered on July 8, 2025, in Japan. The first episode immediately unveiled the series’ true core: the five members of the Ikkokukan High School bowling team are inexplicably transported to the Sengoku period. This surprising shift reimagines the anime as a blend of sports and time-travel science fiction.
Following the broadcast of the inaugural episode, Pony Canyon released a second main trailer and a third key visual that encapsulate this newfound direction. The new visual prominently features the five high school girls alongside characters from the Sengoku era, set against a backdrop hinting at the historical setting.
Furthermore, the “Turkey! Time to Strike” production has announced five new voice cast members who will portray characters from the Sengoku period’s Tokura family. Noriko Hidaka joins as Sumomo, Yuko Minaguchi as Akebi, Kikuko Inoue as Suguri, Miki Ito as Anzu, and Rei Sakuma as Natsume. These additions complement the main cast, which includes Hana Hishikawa as Mai Otonashi, Kana Ichinose as Rina Godai, Haruki Iwata as Sayuri Ichinose, Yuuki Temma as Nozomi Mitaka, and Ayasa Ito as Nanase Nikaido.
The anime is animated by Tatsunoko Production’s Bakken Record label. The opening theme song, “Hyakunichisou,” is performed by the five main cast members under the collective name “Ikkokukan High School Bowling Club, Nagano Prefecture,” while the ending theme is “Moshimo” by Taiyō to Odore, Tsukiyo ni Utae.
