The highly anticipated original anime series Bullet/Bullet, directed by Sunghoo Park, has revealed that the Korean boyband TWS will perform an insert song titled “N.O.S.A.”. This collaboration adds a significant musical layer to the action-packed series, which is set to debut soon.
The Bullet/Bullet Anime: A New Vision from Sunghoo Park
Bullet/Bullet is an original net animation (ONA) series created and directed by Sunghoo Park, known for his work on The God of High School and the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. The project has been a decade in the making, reflecting Park’s long-term vision for the series. Animated by E&H Production and produced by Gaga, the anime promises a compelling narrative set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Plot and Setting
The story of Bullet/Bullet unfolds in a future where the remnants of humanity reside within a walled city, relying on salvaged waste from the old world for power. Despite their contained existence, most inhabitants appear content. However, a young protagonist named Gear yearns for something more, inspired by the legendary car-driving outlaw, Road. His desire to explore the wastes leads him to a fateful encounter with a mysterious femme fatale. This encounter draws Gear and his companions into a high-stakes heist, setting off an adventure that will profoundly alter his perception of the world and his place within it. The central premise involves a team of thieves who specialize in recovering unfairly stolen items.
Cast and Production Team
The anime features a talented voice cast, with Marina Inoue as the lead character Gear. Other key cast members include Kazuhiro Yamaji as Shirokuma, Rie Kugimiya as Qu-0213 Nosa, Kana Hanazawa as Qu-0213 Kau, and Tomokazu Seki as Qu-0213 Naka. The production team includes Aki Kindaichi on series composition and screenplay, Takahiro Yoshimatsu as character designer and chief animation director, Hidetaka Tenjin handling concept and mechanical design, and Shin Misawa as car action director. Hiroaki Tsutsumi is composing the music for the series.
Musical Landscape of Bullet/Bullet
Beyond TWS’s insert song “N.O.S.A,” Bullet/Bullet also features other prominent musical contributions. The opening theme song is “WORK HARD” performed by the Japanese rapper Chanmina, while the ending theme is “Glass Door” by the rock band Newspeak. The inclusion of diverse musical artists like TWS, Chanmina, and Newspeak suggests a varied sonic palette designed to enhance the anime’s dynamic and dramatic elements.
