Udon Entertainment has announced its plans to publish Hayato Aoki’s Macross Frontier (also known as Macross F) manga in English, with the release expected next year. The news was confirmed at the Bigwest Macross Panel during Anime Expo.
The Macross Frontier manga, which originally ran for five volumes from 2008 to 2010 in Kadokawa’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine, will be translated by Zack Davisson. This marks a renewed effort to bring the manga to English-speaking audiences, following an earlier, unfulfilled plan by the JManga platform for an online release in the United States back in 2011.
In addition to the manga announcement, the Bigwest panel also revealed that the Macross Delta television series and films, along with the Macross Frontier television series and movies, are slated for Blu-ray Disc releases next year from Anime Limited. Bigwest also plans to stream the first episodes of the Macross 7, Macross Frontier, and Macross Delta series on YouTube starting July 7.
