The highly anticipated second season of “Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” is officially set to premiere in July 2025. Anime fans, get ready to stock up on your favorite snacks, because Boxxo and Lammis are back for more dungeon-crawling adventures! The official website has unveiled a teaser visual and promotional video, revealing the returning cast and some key changes in the staff.

What to Expect in Season 2

Release Date

Mark your calendars! “Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” Season 2 will premiere in July 2025. This news comes after a bit of a wait, as the second season was announced immediately after the Season 1 finale in September 2023.

Staff Updates

While the core team remains largely the same, there’s a notable change in the director’s chair. Takashi Yamamoto (known for his work on Jewelpet Twinkle and Nanatsuiro Drops) is taking over as director, replacing Noriaki Akitaya from Season 1.

  • Director: Takashi Yamamoto
  • Series Composition: Tatsuya Takahashi (returning)
  • Original Character Design: Yūki Hagure
  • Character Design: Takahiro Sakai (returning), Naoki Yamauchi
  • Animation Production: Studio Gokumi & AXsiZ (returning)

Returning Cast

Good news for fans of the original voice actors! Jun Fukuyama and Kaede Hondo are reprising their roles as Hakkon (Boxxo) and Lammis, respectively. Their dynamic is a huge part of what makes the anime so enjoyable, so it’s great to have them back.

The full cast list includes:

  • Jun Fukuyama as Boxxo
  • Kaede Hondo as Lammis
  • Shiki Aoki as Hurumi
  • Miyu Tomita as Shui
  • Kazuya Nakai as Kerioil

Teaser Trailer and Visual

A new teaser trailer and visual have been released to celebrate the announcement. The trailer offers a quick recap of the first season, featuring new voice lines from Hakkon and Lammis. The teaser visual also features Boxxo, our favorite vending machine protagonist.

A Quick Recap of Season 1

For those who need a refresher, “Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” tells the bizarre yet charming story of a man who dies in a traffic accident and is reincarnated as a vending machine in a fantasy world. Here’s the official synopsis:

After dying in a traffic accident, I find myself standing near an unfamiliar lake. My body won’t move, I can’t hear my voice, and when I try to shout in confusion, words that I never expected come out! “Get one free with a winner.” I-it seems I’ve turned into a vending machine…! I can only do what actual vending machines can. It’s impossible to move by myself, and there’s no way for me to have any meaningful conversation – how am I going to survive some fantasy world’s dungeon like this?!

Unable to move or speak beyond pre-programmed vending machine phrases, he’s named “Boxxo” by Lammis, a strong and kind adventurer who becomes his companion. Together, they navigate the dangers of the dungeon, with Boxxo using his vending machine abilities to help Lammis and others.

Where to Watch

The first season of “Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” aired from July to September 2023 and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Season 2 is also expected to stream on Crunchyroll.

About the Series

“Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” began as a web novel series written by Hirukuma on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in March 2016. Kadokawa Shoten acquired the series and published it as a light novel.

  • Original Web Novel: Hirukuma (March 3, 2016 – December 18, 2016)
  • Light Novel: Hirukuma (August 1, 2016 – February 1, 2017)
  • Manga: Illustrated by Kunieda (August 2021 – present)

Yen Press has licensed both the light novel and manga for English release.

What Makes It Special?

The series has been praised for its unique and humorous take on the isekai genre. The combination of a ridiculous premise with heartfelt moments and clever writing has resonated with many viewers.

Potential Storylines for Season 2

While the first season adapted most of the content from the original three light novel volumes, there’s still plenty of room for new adventures. Season 2 could explore:

  • New Dungeons: Boxxo and Lammis could venture into even more dangerous and unexplored areas of the dungeon.
  • New Abilities: Boxxo might discover new vending machine features or ways to use his existing abilities.
  • Character Development: Lammis could face new challenges that test her strength and kindness, while Boxxo could find ways to express himself beyond his limited phrases.
  • Anime-Original Content: Given that the anime has caught up with the source material, Season 2 might introduce entirely new storylines and characters.

Reception

The first season of “Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” was well-received by critics and fans alike. Its unique premise, humor, and heart made it a standout in the isekai genre.

Final Thoughts

With a confirmed July 2025 release date, updated staff, and the return of the beloved cast, “Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon” Season 2 is shaping up to be another exciting chapter in Boxxo and Lammis’s adventures. Get ready to insert your coins and enjoy the ride!
