Viz Media has announced the addition of Aya Hirakawa’s romantic comedy manga, Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze (Japanese title: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi), to its simulpub lineup. This means new chapters will be released in English simultaneously with their Japanese debut.
What is a Simulpub?
“Simulpub” is a portmanteau of “simultaneously” and “publish,” referring to manga chapters released at the exact same time in Japan in Japanese and globally in English via various digital platforms. This approach significantly reduces the delay between the Japanese and English releases, allowing international fans to read chapters as they launch in Japan. Digital platforms such as Viz Media’s website and app, Crunchyroll, and Shueisha’s Manga Plus commonly host simulpub titles.
The Story of Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze
The manga centers on Yuu Ayase, a high school student who struggles to live up to the legacy of his late mother, a famous actress. While Yuu inherited his mother’s good looks, he is otherwise unexceptional. Following his mother’s death, Yuu is taken in by the wealthy Mikadono family, close friends of his mother. He soon finds himself living with the three Mikadono sisters: Kazuki, a rookie actress; Niko, a rising martial artist; and Miwa, a shogi prodigy. Despite their talents, the sisters have a “weak side” and are surprisingly easy to get along with. The series explores how Yuu, an ordinary individual, navigates living with these three exceptionally talented sisters, and how their interactions lead to the sisters developing romantic feelings for him. The story is described as a heartwarming romantic comedy focusing on family and budding romance.
Creator and Publication History
Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze is written and illustrated by Aya Hirakawa. The manga began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine in December 2021. As of July 4, 2025, fifteen tankōbon (collected volumes) have been released in Japan.
Anime Adaptation and Other English Releases
The manga has inspired an anime television series adaptation produced by P.A. Works, which premiered in July 2025. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series as it airs, and an English dub is also available.
Prior to Viz Media’s simulpub announcement, AI localization company Orange Inc. had already begun publishing the series digitally in English through its e-bookstore service, Emaqi, with the first two volumes available since June 2025.
