The upcoming anime film adaptation of Nowaki Fukamidori’s fantasy novel, “Whoever Steals This Book” (Kono Hon o Nusumu Mono wa), has released a new main trailer, revealing its core cast, more production staff, and the official theme song. The film is slated to premiere in Japan on December 26, 2025.
The latest trailer offers a deeper look into the mystery-adventure fantasy, which follows high school student Mifuyu as she embarks on a journey through cursed stories to reclaim stolen books from Mikura Hall.
Main Cast Revealed
The new trailer introduces seven key cast members bringing the literary world to life. Making their voice acting debuts are Rin Kataoka as the protagonist Mifuyu Mikura and Sora Tamaki as Mashiro.
Experienced voice actors joining the cast include:

The film is produced by Kagokan and directed by Daisei Fukuoka. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is responsible for the screenplay. Keiko Kurosawa is handling character designs and serving as the film’s animation director. Michiru Ōshima is composing the music. Yuji Higa, the founder of studio Kagokan, is credited as the animation producer.
Theme Song Announcement
The newly released trailer also previews the film’s theme song, titled “Share,” performed by vocalist YUKI. YUKI, formerly of the band Judy and Mary, is known for her distinctive musical style.

“Whoever Steals This Book” is based on Nowaki Fukamidori’s fantasy novel, first published by Kadokawa Shoten in October 2020. A manga adaptation by Kakeru Sora was serialized from December 2021 to March 2023, with Yen Press releasing the three compiled volumes in English. The anime film adaptation was initially announced for a 2026 release but was later updated to December 26, 2025.
