The Story of Unlucky Yano-kun
“Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days” is a romantic comedy that centers on Tsuyoshi Yano, a high school boy perpetually plagued by bad luck, often arriving at school with new injuries. His classmate, Kiyoko Yoshida, is a constant worrier who becomes increasingly concerned about his daily mishaps. Yoshida begins to observe Yano’s unlucky life and resolves to support him, leading to their developing relationship.
The manga, created by Yui Tamura, began serialization on Kodansha’s Comic Days website in June 2021 and is currently ongoing. As of March 2025, the manga has published its 10th compiled book volume. The series also inspired a live-action film, which premiered in Japan on November 15, 2024.
