Details of the Hiatus and Previous Pauses
Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine’s website stated that the manga’s return date and the new release schedule for the 11th volume will be announced at a later time. This is not the first time the series has taken a break; You’re My Cutie!! previously went on hiatus in September 2024 before resuming serialization on February 13.
About “You’re My Cutie!!” (Kawaii Nante Kiitenai!!)
Written and illustrated by Nakaba Harufuji, You’re My Cutie!! began serialization in Kodansha’s shōjo manga magazine Bessatsu Friend in June 2020. The series has garnered a following for its engaging romantic comedy premise.
The story follows Madoka Kawahara, a high school student who is an avid fan of shōjo manga, particularly those featuring charming, younger male leads who fall for their senior. Her world takes an unexpected turn when a handsome, yet rude and standoffish, younger male (kohai) named Momoki Shikura begins working at her father’s restaurant. Despite their initial friction, Madoka finds herself in a developing romance after she protects him from overly persistent fans, leading Momoki to slowly lower his guard.
As of April 2025, ten tankōbon volumes of the series have been collected in Japan. Kodansha USA publishes the series digitally in English, with the ninth volume released in November 2024. Fans eagerly await updates on the manga’s return and the rescheduled release of its next volume.
