The popular light novel series, “Yowaki MAX Reijō nanoni, Ratsuwan Konyakusha-sama no Kake ni Notte Shimatta” (Even Though I’m a Super Timid Noble Girl, I Accepted the Bet From My Cunning Fiancé!), is officially receiving a TV anime adaptation. The announcement was accompanied by the reveal of a teaser visual, trailer, and key cast members, exciting fans of the romantic fantasy series.
A Timid Villainess’s Isekai Journey to Paleontology
The story centers on Pia Rockwell, a protagonist who is reincarnated into an otome game as a “mob villainess.” After regaining memories of her past life as a Japanese doctorate student specializing in paleontology, Pia is determined to avoid her pre-destined tragic fate, which includes having her engagement annulled and being exiled.
Instead of embracing the villainess role, Pia’s true ambition is to become a paleontologist, excavate fossils, establish a museum, and ultimately work as a curator. To achieve this, she attempts to break off her engagement with Rufus, the Prime Minister’s son. However, her cunning fiancé, Rufus, takes her request as a challenge, proposing a bet that sets off a series of unpredictable events. The narrative explores the unfolding romance and challenges faced by the timid villainess and her shrewd fiancé.
The Original Work: Light Novel and Manga
The series originated as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō online publishing platform in January 2020, penned by Hiro Oda. Enterbrain later began publishing it as a light novel under their B’s Log Bunko imprint, with illustrations by Tsubasa.V. Seven volumes of the light novel have been released, with the first volume debuting in August 2020.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Aji Murata, was serialized online on Kadokawa’s KadoComi service under the Flos Comic label from February 2021 to January 2024, compiling into four volumes.
Cast and Production Details
While a broadcast date has yet to be announced, initial cast details have been revealed. Miku Itō will voice the timid heroine, Pia Rockwell, and Ryōta Ōsaka will portray her shrewd fiancé, Rufus Stan. Both voice actors are reprising their roles from a previously released voice drama for the series.
Further details regarding the animation studio, director, and other key staff members are expected to be announced in the future. Fans can look forward to seeing the unique blend of romantic comedy, fantasy, and isekai elements brought to life in the upcoming TV anime.
