The Dragon Ball universe is known for its epic battles and characters with incredible power. While Saiyans like Goku often steal the spotlight with their transformations and raw strength, the human characters are frequently left behind, struggling to keep up. However, what if Earth’s mightiest humans were granted the same overwhelming power as Goku? Here are 10 fights where humans would have undoubtedly emerged victorious if they possessed the same strength and abilities as the series’ main protagonist.

What Makes Goku So Powerful?

Before diving into the hypothetical fights, it’s important to understand why Goku is so powerful. Goku’s strength isn’t just due to training; it’s rooted in his Saiyan biology. Saiyans possess a unique trait called S-Cells that allow them to transform into Super Saiyans. The more S-Cells a Saiyan has, the more powerful they can become. Additionally, Saiyans experience Zenkai boosts, a power increase after recovering from near-death experiences. These factors, combined with Goku’s relentless training, make him a force to be reckoned with, far surpassing most humans in the series.

The Power Level System

The power level system in Dragon Ball is a way to quantify a character’s strength. Originally measured using devices called scouters, power levels assign a numerical value to a character’s energy output, known as Ki. While the series moves away from strictly using scouters, the concept of power levels remains relevant as fighters learn to sense and perceive each other’s power without needing technology. A higher power level generally indicates a greater chance of winning a fight, although skill and technique also play significant roles. Transformations, such as Super Saiyan, drastically increase a fighter’s power level.

Human Fighters: A Look at Earth’s Mightiest

Despite not having Saiyan abilities, several humans have shown impressive strength and skill in the series. Characters like Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, and even Master Roshi have trained hard to keep up with the challenges they face. While they might not reach the same heights as Goku, their dedication and unique techniques make them formidable fighters in their own right.

Krillin: The Strongest Human?

Krillin is often considered the strongest human in Dragon Ball. He’s a capable martial artist who has trained alongside Goku and developed a variety of techniques, such as the Destructo Disc and the Solar Flare. Krillin has also had his potential unlocked by the Elder Guru, an advantage that has made him a top contender among human fighters. Despite lacking Saiyan transformations, his courage and willingness to fight alongside his powerful friends is notable.

Tien: A Master of Martial Arts

Tien Shinhan is a disciplined and skilled martial artist known for his unique techniques like the Tri-Beam and the Multi-Form. While he’s often overshadowed by Saiyans, Tien’s strength and determination have allowed him to hold his own against powerful enemies. Some fans even argue that Tien has more impressive feats than Krillin in certain situations.

Yamcha: The Underestimated Warrior

Yamcha, while sometimes a subject of jokes among fans, is a capable fighter who has mastered techniques like the Wolf Fang Fist and the Spirit Ball. Although he’s often defeated, Yamcha has shown that he can hold his own against formidable foes when properly focused. His victory against a Saibaman that troubled both Goku and Piccolo highlights his latent strength.

Master Roshi: The Unexpected Powerhouse

Master Roshi, the ancient martial arts master who trained Goku and Krillin, is surprisingly powerful. He demonstrated his capabilities in the Tournament of Power, where he fought against strong opponents from other universes. His use of the Evil Containment Wave and his ability to briefly keep up with characters far beyond his usual level highlight his hidden strength.

10 Dragon Ball Fights Humans Would Have Won

Here are 10 scenarios where, if the human characters were as powerful as Goku, the outcome would have been very different:

1. Chi-Chi vs. Goku

During the final arc of Dragon Ball, Chi-Chi fights Goku, demanding he remembers their childhood promise to marry. Goku easily defeats her, but with equal Saiyan strength, Chi-Chi would have been a true match for him, demonstrating that the two are equals in strength, instead of being easily defeated.

2. Krillin vs. Frost

In Dragon Ball Super, Krillin faced Frost in the Tournament of Destroyers. Frost defeated Krillin by cheating. If Krillin possessed a Saiyan’s strength and Zenkai boosts, he could have easily overpowered Frost and advanced in the tournament.

3. Tien vs. Harmira

Tien struggled against Harmira in the Tournament of Power, but with Saiyan-level power, Tien could have effortlessly defeated Harmira and showcased his true potential, possibly making it further into the tournament.

4. Videl vs. Spopovich

Videl was brutally defeated by Spopovich in the World Martial Arts Tournament. With a Saiyan’s strength and a Zenkai boost after that beating, Videl would have easily overpowered Spopovich and avenged her defeat, highlighting how strong she could have been.

5. Tien vs. Second Form Cell

Tien valiantly attempted to hold off Second Form Cell, but he was ultimately outmatched. With Saiyan-level power, Tien could have severely damaged Cell or even defeated him, dramatically altering the course of the Cell Saga.

6. Yamcha vs. Dr. Gero

Yamcha was badly injured and left for dead by Dr. Gero. If Yamcha had Saiyan-level strength, he would have easily defeated Dr. Gero and prevented the release of the androids, saving him from his humiliating defeat.

7. Krillin vs. Frieza’s Soldiers

Krillin is killed by Frieza in his final form. If Krillin possessed the power of a Saiyan, he could have become Super Saiyan and potentially defeated Dodoria and helped with the defeat of Frieza, changing the outcome of the Namek Saga.

8. Krillin vs. Dodoria

Dodoria is a powerful henchman of Frieza, easily overpowering the Z fighters. If Krillin had the power of a Super Saiyan, he would have easily defeated Dodoria, turning the tables on Frieza’s forces.

9. Z Fighters vs. Nappa

The Z fighters suffered heavy losses during their battle with Nappa. With human Z fighters possessing Saiyan-level power, they could have easily defeated Nappa and avoided the devastating losses, making the Saiyan Saga less tragic for the main characters.

10. Yamcha vs. Saibamen

Yamcha’s embarrassing defeat against a Saibaman is a low point for the character. If Yamcha had Saiyan power, he would have easily defeated the Saibamen, showing his true potential and saving himself from that embarrassing defeat.

The Importance of Human Characters

While the Saiyans often take the spotlight in Dragon Ball, the human characters play a crucial role in the series. Their courage, determination, and unique fighting styles have made them integral to the Z Fighters’ success. Even though they may not reach the same power levels as Goku, their contributions to the story and the fights they’ve been in, make them important. If they were to have the same strength as Goku, they could become truly legendary.
