About Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods
Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods is a fantasy slice-of-life series that originated as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in April 2021. ASCII Media Works later acquired it for full publication, releasing the light novel series with illustrations by ox starting in November 2021 under their Dengeki no Shin Bungei imprint. A manga adaptation by Akira Anzai also began serialization on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website in November 2021.
The Story So Far
The narrative centers on Minato Kusunoki, who moves to a quiet countryside estate. This residence, initially described as “terrifying” and “overflowing with evil spirits,” is cleansed by Minato’s extraordinary abilities. Following this purification, a diverse group of unique and peculiar gods are drawn to the comfort of the Kusunoki residence, leading Minato to spend his days in peaceful cohabitation with his spiritual neighbors. Yen Press publishes the light novels in English, describing the series as Minato living a lively and divine life surrounded by gods, experiencing seasonal changes and new beings wandering into his garden.

These three new characters, Seri, Torika, and Utsugi, are described as ten (a type of marten from Japanese folklore) who serve as attendants to Yamagami and have a fondness for Japanese confections.
