Kadokawa has announced the English release of “Love Potion Paradox (Horegusuri Event ga Watashi no Okite Shimaimashita)” manga, with its digital debut slated for October 24. This new title introduces readers to a villainess-reincarnation narrative with a romantic twist.
A Villainess Reborn with a Potion Problem
The story centers on a 20-year-old woman who, after her previous life ends, finds herself reincarnated as Renese, the villainess in her favorite R-rated romance novel. In the original novel’s plot, Renese, as Prince Frantz’s fiancée, attempts to break up the destined romance between Prince Frantz and the heroine, Aria, by enlisting her knight, Elden. However, Elden is secretly in love with Aria and ultimately betrays Renese.
Determined to alter this tragic fate and ensure her favorite character, Elden, ends up with Aria, the reincarnated Renese sets out to change the storyline. Her first objective is to prevent the pivotal “love potion event,” where Aria accidentally spills a love potion on Prince Frantz. In a surprising turn of events, the potion is spilled on Elden instead, leading him to passionately pursue Renese! This unexpected development forms the core paradox of the series, as the knight falls madly in love with the villainess, unaware that she is his devoted fan from a past life.
Creators Behind the Story
“Love Potion Paradox” is created by Usagi Hoshimi and Yakata. This collaborative effort brings to life a humorous and intriguing “villainess” genre story, a popular subgenre within isekai narratives where a protagonist is reborn into a fictional world, often as an antagonist they must reform.
Availability for Readers
The digital release of “Love Potion Paradox” is set for October 24.
