The highly anticipated second cour of the “Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube” anime has revealed its creditless opening sequence, offering fans a clear look at the new visuals accompanying the series’ return in January 2026. The new opening features the track “ERASE” performed by THE ORAL CIGARETTES, setting the tone for the upcoming mysteries and character developments.
The anime, a fresh adaptation of Sho Makura and Takeshi Okano’s classic occult shonen manga, premiered its first cour in July 2025 and is set to continue its supernatural narrative with a split second cour.
Diving into the Second Cour’s Opening Theme
The newly released creditless opening sequence showcases “ERASE” by THE ORAL CIGARETTES as the official opening theme for the second part of “Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube.” This follows the first cour’s energetic opening, “P0WER -Akuryou Taisen-,” by Shintenchi Kaibyaku Shudan: Zigzag. The band THE ORAL CIGARETTES expressed honor in contributing to a series they’ve watched since childhood, drawing parallels between Nube saving students from darkness and music helping people through their struggles.
In addition to the opening, the ending theme for the second cour, titled “MAGICAL,” will be performed by globally celebrated Gen Z artist Ayumu Imazu. Imazu crafted “MAGICAL” with a nostalgic, city-pop-inspired sound, aiming for both familiarity and warmth for new and veteran fans.
The Return of Nube: What to Expect in January 2026
The second cour of “Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube” is scheduled to begin airing in Japan on January 7, 2026, following a break in the fall after the first cour’s July 2025 premiere. New cast members joining for the second cour include Shunichi Toki, who will voice Nube as a child, and Yu Shimamura, cast as Minako, Nube’s teacher. The anime continues to be directed by Yasuyuki Oishi at Studio KAI, with Yoshiki Okusa handling series composition and Yuu Yoshiyama on character designs. Evan Call is composing the music for the series.
