What to Expect from “Minna no Jikan”
Assassination Classroom the Movie: Everybody’s Time is set to offer a fresh perspective on the beloved series by adapting stories from the original manga that were not animated in the previous TV series. This initiative serves as a significant part of the franchise’s 10th-anniversary celebration.
Untold Stories and Character Insights
The film’s primary appeal lies in its promise to “fill in missing stories” and provide “other insights into the characters that did not receive a lot of attention in the original anime”. These might include character development arcs and lighthearted seasonal stories that, while not critical to the main assassination plot, contributed significantly to the charm and humor of Class 3-E.
Production Team
Studio Lerche, the animation studio behind the original anime, returns for the film. Masaki Kitamura will direct the movie, with Makoto Uezu returning to pen the script, and Aya Higami designing the characters. This consistency in the creative team aims to ensure the film remains faithful to the series’ established tone and aesthetic.
Release and International Availability
The movie is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on March 20, 2026. As of now, details regarding an English dub or a Western release date have not been revealed. However, international release details are expected to follow, likely with streaming availability later in the year.
The original Assassination Classroom manga, created by Yusei Matsui, ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016 and has sold over 27 million copies. The television anime adapted the manga across two seasons in 2015 and 2016, with previous films including a recap movie and two live-action adaptations. Seasons 1 and 2 of the anime are currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
