Crunchyroll has announced its acquisition of several highly anticipated anime titles for streaming, including “Mr. Osomatsu Season 4,” “Puniru is a Kawaii Slime Season 2,” and “Tougen Anki”. These series are set to join Crunchyroll’s robust summer 2025 lineup.

Mr. Osomatsu Season 4

The fourth season of the “Mr. Osomatsu” anime is scheduled to debut on Crunchyroll on July 8 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The streaming will be available in numerous regions worldwide, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the CIS.

The returning cast members for “Mr. Osomatsu Season 4” include Takahiro Sakurai, Yūichi Nakamura, Hiroshi Kamiya, Jun Fukuyama, Daisuke Ono, and Miyu Irino, all reprising their roles as the Matsuno sextuplets. Yoshinori Odaka, who directed episodes in the first and third seasons and the Osomatsu-san ~Hipipo-Zoku to Kagayaku Kajitsu~ film, is directing the fourth season at Pierrot Films. Shū Matsubara is once again in charge of series scripts, and Eiji Abiko is handling character designs.

“Mr. Osomatsu” is based on Fujio Akatsuka’s original “Osomatsu-kun” gag manga, which focused on the mischievous Matsuno sextuplets as 10-year-olds. The “Mr. Osomatsu” anime re-imagines the sextuplets as adults. The franchise has previously seen three anime seasons (premiering in 2015, 2017, and 2020), a film in 2019, and various anime shorts and a live-action film.

Puniru is a Kawaii Slime Season 2

Fans of “Puniru is a Kawaii Slime” can look forward to its second season premiering on Crunchyroll on July 6 at 3:00 a.m. PDT. This stream will be accessible globally, with the exception of Japan and Korea. Sumire Uesaka joins the cast as Gelee, a mysterious character who identifies herself as “the perfect AI”.

The first season of the romantic comedy, based on Maedakun’s web manga series, premiered in October 2024, with Crunchyroll also streaming it as it aired. The story revolves around Kotarō, who creates a slime named Puniru that, after seven years, transforms into a beautiful young woman.

Tougen Anki Anime

“Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise” is set to begin streaming on Crunchyroll on July 11 at 8:30 a.m. PDT. This series will be available worldwide, excluding Japan and China. Notably, “Tougen Anki” is making history by simulcasting its episodes on Netflix, Prime Video, and Crunchyroll simultaneously, marking a significant development for anime streaming.

The anime’s cast includes Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, Kōtarō Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki, Manaka Iwami as Homare Byobugaura, Shōgo Sakata as Ikari Yaoroshi, Natsuki Hanae as Juji Yusurube, Kaito Miura as Rokuro Kiriyama, and Aimi as Kuina Sazanami. Additional cast members include Daisuke Kishio as Tsubakiri Momomiya, Mariya Ise as Yomogi Momokusa, Tsuyoshi Koyama as Tsuyoshi Ichinose, Yasunori Masutani as Samidare Momoya, and Megumi Ogata as the Principal.

Produced by Studio Hibari, “Tougen Anki” is directed by Ato Nonaka, with Yukie Sugawara handling the scripts, Ryoko Amisaki overseeing character designs, and Kohta Yamamoto composing the music. The opening theme song, “OVERNIGHT,” is performed by THE ORAL CIGARETTES, while BAND-MAID performs the ending theme, “What is justice?”.

The manga, written and illustrated by Yura Urushibara, has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine since June 2020 and has sold over 4 million copies in Japan. The story draws inspiration from the Japanese folktale of Momotaro and centers on a conflict between demon descendants and the heirs of Momotaro. The protagonist, Shiki Ichinose, discovers his demon ancestry after an attack, setting him on a path to uncover his inner powers and the Oni legacy. A mini-companion anime titled “Onimomomomo” will also air weekly alongside the main series.
