The Original Mechanical Marie Manga
The initial Mechanical Marie (Kikaijikake no Marie) manga by Aki Akimoto first appeared as a one-shot in LaLa magazine in March 2020. Its regular serialization commenced in June 2020 and concluded in June 2023, spanning six tankōbon volumes. Yen Press holds the license for the first manga series and describes the plot as a martial arts prodigy, Marie, pretending to be a robot maid to protect her human-despising boss, Arthur, from assassination attempts, all while navigating his unexpected affections for inanimate objects.
Anime Adaptation and English Release
The original Mechanical Marie manga inspired a television anime adaptation, which premiered on October 5, 2025, and concluded on December 21, 2025, with 12 episodes. The anime adapted the entirety of the original Mechanical Marie manga, allowing viewers to transition directly to the Mechanical Marie+ sequel if they wished to continue the story. Yen Press has also licensed the original manga for English publication, with the first volume shipping in August 2025 and the second volume expected on February 24, 2026.
