Q Hayashida’s Dai Dark manga is currently on a two-issue hiatus to allow the author to work on the manga’s compiled book volume. The series, serialized in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine, is set to return in the magazine’s November issue, which will be released in October.
The announcement of the hiatus was made in the August issue of Monthly Shonen Sunday. Dai Dark has been serialized since March 2019, with eight tankōbon volumes released as of October 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English in North America.
This is not the first time Dai Dark has gone on hiatus. Previous breaks have occurred, including one where the manga returned in January. The series generally has a monthly release schedule, though occasional breaks for the author have been noted.
Dai Dark is a dark comedy, dark fantasy, and science fiction manga that follows Zaha Sanko, a teenage alien whose bones are rumored to grant any wish, making him a target across the universe. He travels with his skeletal companion Avakian, seeking the person who placed this curse upon him.
