Fans of acclaimed manga artist Tatsuki Fujimoto are being treated to an extensive look at his upcoming anime anthology series, “Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26,” with the release of a 17-minute, 26-second preview video. The video offers a comprehensive glimpse into all eight animated short stories, which adapt early one-shot manga works created by Fujimoto between the ages of 17 and 26. The anthology series is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on November 7, 2025.

The “Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26” anime serves as an exploration of the creative origins of the mind behind popular series like Chainsaw Man and Fire Punch, as well as the critically acclaimed one-shot Look Back. The anthology collects eight distinct stories, each brought to life by different directors and animation studios, promising a diverse range of visual and narrative styles. The series offers viewers a unique opportunity to witness the evolution of Fujimoto’s storytelling prowess and thematic interests from his early career.
The Featured Shorts: A Glimpse into Varied Worlds
The 17-minute preview video showcases clips from each of the eight short films, providing insight into their genres and premises. These adaptations are based on one-shots collected in Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man 17-21 and Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man 22-26 manga anthologies.

- “Sasaki Stopped a Bullet”: An exploration of intense adolescent emotions.

- “Shikaku”: A twisted love story following an unhinged assassin girl.
- “Mermaid Rhapsody”: A touching romance between a boy and a mermaid, centered around an underwater piano.
- “Woke-Up-as-a-Girl Syndrome”: A story delving into finding one’s true self beyond gender norms.
- “Nayuta of the Prophecy”: Chronicles the journey of siblings bound by a harsh destiny.
- “Sisters”: Depicts rivalry, conflict, and growth between artistically inclined sisters.
Production Details and Global Release
The “Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26” anthology involves a collaborative effort from seven acclaimed directors, including Tetsuaki Watanabe, Nobuyuki Takeuchi, and Kazuaki Terasawa, alongside six prominent animation studios: ZEXCS, Lapin Track, GRAPH77, 100studio, Studio Kafka, and P.A.WORKS. FLAGSHIP LINE is overseeing the production.
The full eight-episode series will be available for streaming exclusively on Prime Video worldwide in over 240 countries and territories starting November 7, 2025. Prior to its global streaming debut, the anthology had a special limited theatrical run in nine Japanese cinemas, beginning October 17, screening in two four-episode parts. Two of the shorts, “A Couple Clucking Chickens Were Still Kickin’ in the Schoolyard” and “Shikaku,” also received nominations in the Short Film category at the Bucheon International Animation Festival in South Korea.
This project follows other successful anime adaptations of Fujimoto’s work, including the Chainsaw Man TV series and the Look Back anime film, which premiered in June 2024. The anthology aims to highlight the breadth of Fujimoto’s storytelling and the experimental edge that has defined his career since its earliest days.
