Fans of the chaotic romantic comedy “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You” (Kimi no Koto ga Dai Dai Dai Dai Daisuki na Hyaku-nin no Kanojo) have cause to celebrate as a third anime season has been officially announced for 2026. The news was accompanied by a new visual and an announcement trailer, confirming the continuation of Rentaro Aijo’s increasingly expansive love life.
A Growing Harem and a Peculiar Premise
The anime series, often affectionately shortened to “Hyakkano,” centers on high school student Rentaro Aijo, who, after 100 consecutive rejections in middle school, visits a shrine to pray for better luck in love. The God of Love appears and reveals a divine error: Rentaro is destined to have 100 soulmates. However, there’s a significant catch: if Rentaro fails to return the feelings of any of his destined soulmates, they will suffer a fatal misfortune. To avert this tragic fate, Rentaro resolves to date all 100 of them simultaneously, leading to an incredibly over-the-top and hilarious romantic comedy.
The first season of the anime premiered in October 2023, with the second season following in January 2025. Both seasons were animated by Bibury Animation Studios under the direction of Hikaru Sato.
