About Watari-kun’s * Is About to Collapse*
Watari-kun’s * Is About to Collapse* (Japanese: Watari-kun no xx ga Hōkaisunzen) is based on Naru Narumi’s romantic comedy manga series. The manga initially launched in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in August 2014 before moving to Kodansha’s Monthly Young Magazine in November 2015, concluding its serialization in September 2023 with 16 compiled volumes.
The story centers on Naoto Watari, who lives with his younger sister, Suzushiro, at their aunt’s house after the death of their parents. Naoto’s deep devotion to his sister earns him the moniker “the guy with the sister complex.” His routine life is dramatically altered when Satsuki, a childhood friend who has become something of an adversary, transfers to his school. This unexpected reunion stirs up buried memories and creates chaos, pitting Naoto’s dedication to Suzushiro against unresolved emotional turmoil, threatening the stability of his world.
