The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Makoto Akui’s Ao no Orchestra (The Blue Orchestra) manga released a new promotional video for its second season on Sunday, revealing additional cast members and previewing the upcoming theme songs. The highly anticipated second season is slated to premiere on October 5, 2025, in Japan.
New Talents Join the Ensemble
The latest promotional video confirmed three new voice actors joining the cast, bringing fresh voices to key characters as the orchestra faces new challenges. These additions expand an already talented roster, which sees the return of the original cast members for their respective roles.

Opening Theme
The band Galileo Galilei will perform the opening theme song, titled “Amadeus.” The Hokkaido-based band, known for providing themes for other anime like Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, recently resumed activities after a six-year hiatus, making their involvement a notable return.
Ending Theme
The ending theme song, “Ao no Mahō” (Blue Magic), will be performed by ChoQMay.
Production Details and Premiere
Blue Orchestra Season 2 is directed by Seiji Kishi (known for Assassination Classroom and Angel Beats) at Nippon Animation. Yuuko Kakihara (from Chihayafuru) is handling the series composition, and Kazuaki Morita (Kengan Ashura) is designing the characters. The music is composed by Akira Kosemura and Kanako Hara, with orchestral performances once again recorded by the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music Philharmonic Orchestra.
The second season is confirmed to run for 21 episodes, continuing the journey of Hajime Aono and his fellow orchestra members as they navigate new responsibilities and challenges after the graduation of the third-year students. International audiences can expect the series to be available through simulcasts on major streaming platforms shortly after its Japanese broadcast, with Crunchyroll being a likely platform.
